Men inspecting the remains of a train wreck. "Five persons were killed and a dozen injured when Illinois Central passenger train No. 11, westbound, was wrecked near Aplington. The track was weakened by the high water, the locomotive and mail car plunging onto the bank and the combination express and smoker turned over."
