Note
Owner H. W. Spaulding built this commercial building in 1889. A complex of Spaulding factory buildings, including a carriage factory, stood on the site until the frame buildings were lost in the fire of 1891. Later changes to the original building included the replacement of the original windows with smaller double-hung windows.
