Postcard of the manufacturing district in Grinnell, Iowa. The black column in the center of the image was a smoke stack at the Iowa Southern Utilities company that provided steam heat to the college and some of the downtown buildings. The building in the lower left corner of the picture was the One Minute Washing Machine Factory.
