Lincoln High School was built in 1895 at a cost of $20,000 on the corner of Main and First Street. It was built with Sioux Falls granite that was brought in by train. The building was razed in 1960. 1912 postmark.

In 1868 the independent district of Albia erected a three-story brick building at a cost of $28,000, but in 1878 it was destroyed by fire. A new structure was built in 1879 at a cost of $30,000. 1912 postmark. Number 2224.
