Description: Two-story wooden building. Sponsored by the Northwest German Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the German-English College was built in 1892. The name of the college was changed to Charles City College in 1894. The college fielded teams in football and basketball, included a women's basketball team in 1914. The college was open until 1914 when it merged with Morningside College in Sioux City. 1912 postmark. Number R-21634.

Description: Lincoln High School was built in 1895 at a cost of $20,000 on the corner of Main and First Street. It was built with Sioux Falls granite that was brought in by train. The building was razed in 1960. 1912 postmark.

Description: Looking north at a three-story brick building. Durant was first named Brayton after its founder Benjamin Brayton. The name was later changed to Durant after Thomas C. Durant, one of the pioneers of the Transcontinental Railroad and an individual who contributed the bulk of funds needed to build the town's first public school. 1912 postmark.
