Looking north on Court Avenue with the Taylor County Courthouse in the background. The building on corner right says F.E. Walker at top. It was erected in 1879 costing approximately $12,000. Reportedly, the original owner of the building was James M. Thompson housing the James Thompson Mercantile Co. (printed on side of building) until 1918. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places under Bedford Commercial Historic District.

Hinkley, Christeson & Jensen Grocery Store, Schoonover Brothers Grocery, owned by Harry and Howard Schoonover, a drugstore, and the Princess Theatre opened in the early 1910s and refurbished in April 1918, and the Ray E. Roper Hardware Store in the left foreground. Number 5815.

Looking northwest at various businesses from Foster Street down Garfield Avenue. Farnhamville was platted in 1881 under the name Farnham, named in honor of R. E. Farnham, a railroad official. Postal authorities refused to accept the name Farnham, so town was renamed Farnhamville when the post office opened later in 1881.Farnhamville was incorporated as a city in 1892. 1912 postmark.
