North Campus was originally home to male students and was built under a plan by Grinnell College president J.H.T. Main, who thought that a group of smaller residences would foster fellowship and loyalty among men. In 1968 the college began gradually integrating students into coed dorms, all dorms at Grinnell are now coed. --photo verso
