Looking southeast at the Agriculture Building on the left and the Administration Building on the right. The Agriculture Building was built in 1904 and is one of the best remaining examples of exposition-style architecture anywhere in the world. The Administration Building was built in 1908 and the original fountain still stands in the main lobby. The Iowa State Fair and Exposition Grounds Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 1915 postmark.
Looking at 10 men on horseback. The Iowa State Fair was one of a circuit of five of the largest fairs which was formed to make up a big saddle horse stake amounting to about $6,500. It was believed that it would attract saddle horse men throughout the entire county as it was the best circuit offering saddle horse stakes that had ever been formed. Number R-57025.
