John Nathaniel Norris, a rural mail carrier in Poweshiek County, Iowa, poses next to a horse and buggy driven by his wife, Alsinda. Mr. Norris, who was blind, covered the route from Ewart to Montezuma. Alsinda drove the buggy and read the names and addresses on the mail to him. Mr. Norris is holding a mail bag.
