Herrick Chapel was built in 1907 and dedicated to S.L. Herrick, a congregational minister who followed J.B. Grinnell to the prairie settlement in 1855. He was a professor of mathematics and natural philosophy at the original Grinnell University. Throughout the years the chapel has been the site of morning devotions, Scholars' Convocations, recitals, and weddings. --photo verso.
