The post office and federal building was constructed in 1895 at a cost of $100,000 and renovated and enlarged in 1906 at a cost of $215,000 by James Knox Taylor, supervising architect of the United States Treasury. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Cedar Rapids Business College was constructed in 1911 and located on the corner of Second Avenue and Fifth Street. 1915 postmark. Number 74.
