Interior view of an altar in the "Smallest Church in the World". The stone church was built in 1885. The chapel measures 12' by 16', has a complete miniature altar and four pews each seating two people.The purpose of the church was to accommodate two families. Located at 1120 Little Church Road, Fort Atkinson, Winneshiek County, Iowa 5214.

Looking southwest at a train collision in front of the Dows Depot. A gravel train and stock train collided on September 22, 1912 and 42 head of cattle and 30 head of sheep were killed. The train crew was not hurt. Dows, Iowa (originally named Otisville) was established in 1880 and named for a railroad contractor. 1912 postmark.

Looking at 3 men and a boy fishing in a homemade boat on the Maquoketa River east of Dundee, Iowa. The Maquoketa River is a tributary of the Mississippi River, approximately 150 miles long. Its name is derived from Maquaw-Autaw, which means Bear River in Meskwaki. 1911 postmark.
