Looking southeast at the McAloon, Solberg & Martinek Dry Goods and Grocery Store. The town of Dougherty was first named Prairie in 1870, but in 1871 the name was changed to Dougherty in honor of its first settler, Dan Dougherty. The town was incorporated in 1900. 1912 postmark.
