The jail was completed during the fall of 1876 by J.L. Myers for a cost of $4,900 and was situated two blocks north of the public square. It was a brick structure with iron cells, and a residence attached for the accommodation of the jailer and his family. Number B-281.
Looking southwest from East Main Street. The courthouse was completed in 1859 at a cost of $1,928.15 with an addition built in 1890 and major repairs done in 1933. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Number N-333.
