The Chamber of Commerce building (Veterans Memorial Building) was built by Hunter and Hatton, Cedar Rapids, in 1927. It housed community center facilities, and admistrative space, veterans' groups, and the Chamber of Commerce. The post office building (Federal Building) was completed in 1933. Hotel Roosevelt was built in 1927 in the Georgian Revival style by O.F. Paulson Construction. Krenn & Dato of Chicago were the architects. Number 66761. Series CR-8.

This second courthouse was erected in 1881 on the foundation of the old building [which was destroyed by fire]. It was built of the best brick, finished with stone trimmings, and handsomely designed. The total cost was $17,000. It was condemned in 1939 and a new building was erected in its place in 1940. It was located at 101 South Main Street, Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa. Number 244.

From its opening during 1884 until 1924, it was the tallest building in Des Moines, and likely the entire state. Located at 1007 East Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, and listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
