Looking northeast at the Wade Building constructed in 1929 as an example of Neo-Classical institutional design. The Cherokee Mental Health Institute is a state-run psychiatric facility in Cherokee, Iowa. The hospital was opened for patients on August 15, 1902. The Wade Building is listed on Preservation Iowa's Most Endangered Properties and is located at 1251 W. Cedar Loop, Cherokee, Cherokee County, Iowa. Number C541. Series 40.
